Project Management

Project management is ensured by the WP 0: Administrative and scientific coordination. CIRAD is responsible for coordination with Claude Garcia and Laurène Feintrenie as co-leaders of the project CoForTips and this WP. The CoForSet project to a joint management between CIRAD and partners of the FORENET network, through the IRET in the person of Dr. Donald Midoko Iponga.

The three objectives of this WP are to ensure that the project works well and produces the expected deliverables, establish methodological bridges between disciplines and between sites, and to develop scientific communication program. It is supported in its work by the Steering Committee.

Task 0.1. Administrative Coordination

The coordination team has organized various research teams by WP ('Working Package'), and more clearly defined tasks for each WP. It set up the Steering Committee and organizes its annual meetings and it also manages the internal communication between the project partners through a restricted section on the website of the project and through an internal mailing list . The annual reports on the progress of research and the financial aspects are available to the steering committee and donors.

Task 0.2. Scientific Coordination and Site selection

A database and a common glossary for the project were developed and are regularly updated. They were created during the launching workshop, which helped to define the project guidelines and allocate tasks. During this workshop we also selected all three study sites along a gradient of human intervention on forests. WP 0 coordinates the work on site to ensure that all necessary data is collected in the same format.

Task 0.3. Communication and Sensibilisation

The coordination team ensures communication inside and outside the project. It created the project logo, set up a mailing list and created the website and Facebook page. These tools provide information about the objectives, methods and results of the project, as well as updates on the activities of partners. The power of social media allows observers and stakeholders to respond to our findings and interact easily with our teams.

The Steering Committee's role is to monitor project progress, analyze the annual results appraisal during the three years of the project, and suggest new directions and solutions to difficulties if necessary. It is constituted of the project management unit as well as of Alfred Ngomanda (director of IRET Gabon) and Mathurin Tchatat (coordinator of the forest department, IRAD Cameroon).
