The study area for CoForSet  is the TRIDOM, or Tri-National Dja-Odzala-Minkebe. Set over Cameroon, Gabon and the Democratic Republic of Congo, TRIDOM is the least populated area of the Congo Basin. There is a great diversity of flora and fauna, including large populations of forest elephants and primates, such as gorillas or chimpanzees. The area includes 12 protected areas, covering nearly 20% of the landscape. But these areas overlap with the provinces of iron, which will be exploited in the coming decades.
