Project structure
The CoForTips project is organised in three research components:
Identify the tipping points in a Socio-Ecosystem(SES) in forests in the Congo basin, characterise and mapping of biodiversity resilience, identify stable states and the tipping points with a focus on tree communities and key species of wildlife.
Construct scenarios of biodiversity, which include social, economical, governmental, ecological and geophysical processes on a platform capable to simulate regional trajectories, including sensitivity analysis, and levels of uncertainty and incorporating feedback loops based on adaptation strategies developed by stakeholders.
Create a science/society interface, anchoring the results of our research in the decision-making process at regional and national levels, through well-defined impact pathways involving policy maker and civil society, through participatory construction scenarios, encouraging innovation in the forest and biodiversity management policies.
